‘The Princess Bride’ is an amazing fairy tale of love and swashbuckling adventure. It is full of heart and humor, memorable characters and incredible sword fighting scenes, choreographed by sword master Bob Anderson, who sadly passed away recently at the age of 89. For those who don’t know about Bob Anderson, he was the fighting stunt double for Darth Vader in the original ‘Star Wars’ movies and choreographed the sword fights in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. And with that said, let me tell you that the fighting choreography in THIS movie is some of the best in his career. Yes, you read that right. If you like sword fights and haven’t seen this movie yet, you’re doing yourself a disservice.

  Beyond that, ‘The Princess Bride’ is extremely quotable. There’s even a few internet memes out there based on this movie. There’s good reason for that too, the writing and plot are lots of fun. One of its strengths is that it never forgets it is telling you a fairy tale, and so the story follows its own rules as to what is possible or not, which adds to its charm.

  If you’re put off by the apparent cheesiness of the title, give it a chance anyway. I’m sure this movie will win you over.
