No, I don’t encourage animal cruelty, nor am I pitting these two against each other in a physical fight. There is only one way for these two characters to face off… A lasagna eating contest!!!

  Both are renowned for being able to eat much more than what a normal member of their species would… In fact, it’s probably safe to say that Garfield can eat more than what a normal human can! So who would win in a lasagna eating contest? Who would eat the most before dropping?

  Garfield seems to have the initial advantage, as he’s often shown eating at an incredible speed. So during the first minutes, the cat would take the lead… But this would gradually change, I think. You see, Jughead has a metabolism that burns calories much faster than most people, it’s how he can eat so much and remain so thin. I’m not assuming this, it’s been said in the comic-books a few times. Now compare Jughead to Garfield. Garfield has paid for his vice for food with his health, he is morbidly obese. Jughead, in the meantime, is often hungry because he genuinely needs to eat more than other people. Which means that Jughead’s body doesn’t go through that much effort when he consumes great quantities of food. Plus there’s the simple fact of comparing the size of a cat’s stomach (even that of Garfield) to the size of a human stomach. Don’t forget that while Jughead is thin, his stomach would logically be able to stretch somewhat to accommodate all that food after all these years of eating so much. In fact he’s often been portrayed with an inflated belly after having eaten a lot, so his thin frame should not lure anyone into thinking he wouldn’t have the room to shove all that food in there. As the contest would progress, Garfield would slow down and Jughead would catch up with him, and then win.
